Food Drives across America are a popular way to help local food pantries, soup kitchens, etc., but have you ever thought about how the donated food is actually helping these organizations?

Katie Wendorf of Seed & Bean Market met with Stephanie Edwards, Director of Development & Community Outreach of the Community Cooperative, to get a behind the scenes look at how they operate. Relying on the generous donations from Food Drives, local businesses and grocery stores, the Community Cooperative kitchen cranks out over 180,000 meals a year! Serving our community, the 2,400 volunteers prepare and distribute these meals from the Community Café Kitchen, to the 7 different mobile food pantry locations and to the over 1,000 elderly and homebound citizens in our community.
